Arranging or ordering menus,content in joomla website

 

Well if you are new to Joomla, its hard to know about ordering or arranging your menus or content. If you are in your joomla administrator panel, and for eg, navigate to menus---main menu...Next to every menu, you will see a space for numbering. it might be 10 or 12..whatever.

 

According to the placement or ordering you want, you can assign numbers starting from 1,2,3,to each menu and then straight on top of the number box, you will see something like a floppy disk icon. Clicking that once, would order all your Joomla menus, or content, you wanted to change.

 

I was surprised by the features, Joomla offers. How many times, we pay cash to get small things like ordering of menu or changing content, to designers and coders. Joomla has made everything easy. Lol! I heard even kids have started using Joomla to blog about their school..

Making Joomla Menus with joomla category PDF Print E-mail

Making menus with category manager

 

Here is a small tutorial for making menus with assigning categories.

 

If you navigate to content--category manager, you would be able to see the present categories, click on NEW which you see on the right top of your joomla website administrator panel. After you click NEW, let the SECTION of the joomla site, always remain NEWS, and change the category or give a name, which your want, this name will be applied even for the menu. After you give a name to the category, if required, you can make a small description or else leave those parts, and save your category.

 

Once saved, navigate to MENUS---Main menu in your joomla website. After you are there, click on NEW which you see on the right TOP. This will bring in few options asking you the name of menu, section---which always remains news and for the category, write the one you had previously made. After that hit next, for which you will be asked to choose the kind of content category. I always go for Blog content category. Then SAVE.

 

This would give you a new menu on your main menu in Joomla website. Shoot your questions or comments to the article.
